Banke Bihari temple is one among the holiest and famous temple in India and world. The Lord Krishna image stands in Tribhanga posture, which actually means bent at three places; hence the name Banke is given to him. Bihari means supreme enjoyer. Once the devotees enter the temple they will find that there are no bells and conchs because Banke Bihari does not like the sound of bells or conch. Temple is decorated with lights and various types of flowers. One can hear the chant of Radha-Krishna once he enters the temple.

On different occasions of celebrations, the deity is dressed up and offered bhog. Every occasion is celebrated in unique way and during Jhulan Yatra which is the swing festival of Lord Krishna, his swing is decorated with silver and gold ornaments. Thousands of devotees visit the temple every day and seek the blessings of Banke Bihari. Once people enter this temple they can feel the delight and calmness and forget all the miseries of their life. It is believed that if one looks at the eyes of Banke Bihari for a long time, he will become unconscious. Hence the curtain in front of the deity is pulled up and shut every few minutes.
