Dussehra Puja's Details
Deity: Goddess Durga (Mata Durga), the supreme Mother, the warrior protector
About the Puja: Dussehra, also called Vijayadashami, is the day of victory. The word means "the tenth day of triumph." Tradition holds that on this day, after nine days of fierce battle, Maa Durga finally slew the demon Mahishasura and restored peace to the three worlds. The same day also marks Lord Ram's victory over Ravana, the demon king of Lanka. Across India, effigies of Ravana are burnt to mark this triumph of dharma over adharma. Whatever the form, the meaning is the same. On Dussehra, evil falls. Good rises.
Our verified Vedic priests perform the puja with mantras invoking Maa Durga in her warrior form. The Yajna uses prescribed offerings including red flowers, sindoor, and the symbolic worship of her weapons. Families book this puja for the year's success, for victory in long-standing struggles, for the resolution of court cases and disputes, and for the Mother's protective grace. Muhurat is taken fresh from the Panchang. Book Dussehra Puja with us, and we handle the full vidhi.
